Lithium batteries are the latest technology in battery development. Known commonly as Lithium-ion the lithium battery family consists of a range of other technologies that include lithium cobalt and lithium nickel just to name a few. At SPB, we mostly use the LiFePO4 technology, which is amongst the safest and best performing in the range of lithium-ion batteries. This technology is incorporated into our Invicta Lithium, Zeal Lithium, and PS Supersport Lithium ranges to produce a reliable lithium battery that our customers trust. The lithium battery cells can be found in three forms cylindrical, pouch and prismatic, with the latter two being again the most reliable and what we trust to produce the best results. As lithium battery technology has evolved, so has its ability to be used in different applications. Previously it was thought only to be used in deep-cycle applications. However, this has now changed and lithium can be designed for use in cranking and high-heat applications. This is thanks to a greater understanding of the technology and development of specialised pastes that allow this, such as those found in our Invicta Hybrid Starter range. Our lithium batteries can also be discharged as low as 100% without damaging the battery.
